Love this 12"... solid newskool take on rave/garage/house with dubstep elements... particularly dig "Free My Mind" for its piano tune that drags slightly too long and takes you to the point of "alright alright enough already"... but wen it drops and the bassline hits (4 beats later) it makes it all worth while!!!
Favorite track: Free My Mind (Original Mix).

Headed by Hypercolour boss Jamie Russell, Bristol based Sneaker Social Club follow the tenth career LP from Neil Landstrumm and a slew of releases from Al Tourettes, Throwing Snow, Zoé Zoé with the next installment coming from the Hackney based “itinerant trombonist and dubstep exile” Ralph Cumbers a.k.a Bass Clef.
Across previous releases on Punch Drunk, Werk, Rex Records and Blank Tapes, Bass Clef has effectively melded live instrumentation, nifty analogue synthesis and intricate drum work. In his ‘Moment Only Moment’ EP he makes no exception as he offers up a deluge of saccharine melodies and flecks of 90’s Rave and UK Garage all substantiated by thick, forceful subs.

My whole body agrees with the pace of this short but solid track list. A generous helping of acoustic rhythm samples ignited by breakbeats add extra attention to full range movement on the dancefloor. Not a beat wasted. cherub420
